Coach Vitense joined Coach Mitchell prior to the 2012 season at City High. He has served as the Sophomore coach since then and has seen the sophomore program grow and flourish in numbers and in success. Coach Vitense works with the IF’s in the City High program. Before joining the staff at City High, coach Vitense was an assistant varsity coach at West Liberty High School.
Coach Vitense grew up in Sun Prairie, WI where he was part of a state championship baseball and football team. He was the 1997 Wisconsin State Player of the Year as a SS. He went on the play SS at the University of Iowa where he was a three year starter and all-conference performer.
Coach Vitense, his wife Teesa and their two kids, Cal and Eve, live in Iowa City. He is a co-owner of a financial consulting firm, Business & Financial Strategies along with owning North Dodge Athletic Club in town.
